How does tenant screening work?
Screening runs through Checkr, a national background check provider. You start a screening from the tenant's page, pay the fee shown, and the applicant gets a secure link from Checkr to complete their part.
You pick which property the applicant is applying for - Checkr includes that address in what it sends them. Choosing it here does not assign the person to the property, so you can screen an applicant before deciding anything.
The applicant enters their own personal details - including their Social Security number - directly on Checkr's site. PropertyFolio never sees or stores an SSN.
Most reports come back within a few days, and you are notified when the report is ready.
